For the phases of diagnosis, surgery and postoperative treatment of patients with general surgery, the department of general surgery works in cooperation with the laboratory, radiology / interventional radiology and pathology. One of the most important phases in the treatment of patients with general surgery is to return patients to their routine as soon as possible.

Our Department of General Surgery is a department that aims to respond to all surgical operations, including complex operations, using the latest medical technology. The Department of General Surgery of Optimed Private Hospital defines as a mission providing and orienting the patient a cheerful, qualified and reliable service; using modern techniques, adopted it as a vision to be one of the most reliable Turkish departments of general surgery in all clinical surgical practices, with minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery and emergency surgery in the first place.

The General Surgery Department of our hospital, which provides outpatient services 6 days a week and emergency services 7 days a week and 24 hours continuously; provides the following services to our patients.

Endocrine surgery:

This department performs surgical treatment of Goitre, adrenal glands, diseases of the thyroid and parathyroid glands and benign and malignant diseases of the entire hormonal system in the body.

Hepato-pancreatic-biliary surgery:

This unit performs surgical treatment, which requires special experience in the gallbladder and its pathways, liver and pancreatic diseases. In our department all laparoscopic methods of treatment related to diseases related to the gallbladder and its pathways due to gallstones.

Colorectal surgery:

All attempts for benign and malignant diseases of the colon and colon (colon) are performed in our department of general surgery using modern technology. In this ward of our hospital, our patients are also provided with services for anal diseases such as hemorrhoids (piles), fistulas or fissures (fractures) as high-frequency diseases.

Bariatric and metabolic surgery with laparoscopic method

(Bariatric surgery, type 2 diabetic surgery)

Laparoscopic surgery:

In a laparoscopic surgical unit; Laparoscopic treatment of diseases of the gallbladder, stomach, gastroesophageal reflux, spleen, appendix is ​​performed.

Diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases:

Follow-up and treatment of cysts, infections, fibroadenomas, treatment of mastitis and abscesses; screening, treatment and follow-up of breast cancer, nipple separation and follow-up and treatment of other benign diseases.

Oncological surgery:

Department of Oncology, related to the Department of General Surgery; performs surgical treatment of neoplasms of the breast, neoplasms of the digestive system; lives, neoplasms of the pancreas, bile ducts, neoplasms of the skin and soft tissues, malignant melanoma, thyroid and other neoplasms of the endocrine gland.

Digestive system surgery:

In this unit, surgical treatment of the esophagus (esophagus), stomach, duodenum, small and large intestines is performed.

Obesity and metabolic surgery

Obesity surgery is based mainly on two principles. In obesity surgery, the goal is to reduce the volume of the stomach and / or ‘malabsorption’, in other words, to prevent the digestion of food.

If the duration of obesity is more than 5 years and the patient is between 18 and 65 years old, it can be used for obesity surgery.

Contraindications:

Severe eating disorder

Continuation of obesity with excessive alcohol consumption

Serious systemic diseases

Diseases affecting the upper digestive tract

The need for regular use of anti-inflammatory drugs

Conditions unsuitable for operation:

If obesity has occurred due to thyroid laziness, cortisone use or endocrine disease,

In case of addiction to stimulants such as drugs, alcohol, etc.,

If there is a serious psychiatric problem,

If the pregnancy is planned within 1 year, obesity surgery is not performed under these conditions.

Postoperative pain is minimal. It heals spontaneously in 1-2 days and can be easily controlled with simple painkillers. After such operations you should stay in the hospital for 2 or 3 days. You can get up 4 hours after the operation. No catheter is inserted into the nose or urinary tract.
